Green Lavender Hydrosol

Description

Green lavender (lavandula viridis) is one of our specialities. Although quite rare it grows in abundance on our farm, on the cooler northern slopes under the trees. Its fragrance is much more green and penetrating than ‘normal’ lavender. It makes a great room freshener, and its anti-fungal properties can keep your space clear and clean. Also useful as deodorant and for a foot soak. Energetically it gives a feeling of “I can do this” no matter what the challenge. More about this helpful aromatic here

Our hydrosols are distilled by us here on the farm. Unlike commercially available hydrosols, they are not a by-product of essential oil distillation, but our primary product. We distill gently and slowly to produce the highest quality aromatic water with a wide range of gentle active ingredients intact. The essential oil is not separated off from the water, unless there is more than would be safe. We use water from the spring on our land, which has had no chemical fertiliser on it in decades so is pure and unpolluted. These aromatic distillates are a powerful healing medium because the water carries the energetic imprint of the whole plant in its matrix.

Use hydrosols as an after shower rinse, or pour them in your bath and soak. Use them as face toners, to soothe skin, as food flavourings, room sprays, or to heal as appropriate. Make soaps with them. Or use them as the water part of any cream you make. They are versatile and safe to use so get creative.
